Futsal is returning in style to the Tasmajdan Sports Center stadium. From 31st May to 8th June, after 35 years, a futsal tournament called "Tasmajdan Trophy" will be organized again, which had the status of a prestigious competition in the former Yugoslavia.
In the period from 1981 to 1991, this tournament brought together around 300 teams every year, numerous famous football players and players from first-league clubs. The atmosphere at the most authentic sports facility in Belgrade was amazing, considering that around three to four thousand spectators watched the matches. The organizers hope that the former and regionally recognizable football spirit of Belgrade will be revived at the Tasmajdan Stadium.
The playing environment will be top-notch, and Arena Sport television, which is the tournament's media partner, will broadcast all matches from the quarterfinals onwards, so that participants will have the opportunity to present themselves to a wide audience.
- Registration for the Tasmajdan Trophy is done via the official website of SC Tasmajdan and will last until 26th May
- Registration fee is 20,000 dinars
- The tournament will be played on artificial grass, according to futsal rules, on a field measuring 40x20 meters, with five players on the field and a goalkeeper
- The prize fund for the best teams is 500,000 dinars in total.
The tournament is organized in cooperation with the Football Association of Belgrade, which will provide all the necessary logistical support, and the tournament promoter is the former legendary Red Star Belgrade first team player and former national team player Dule Savic.
"The idea is to properly restore the old glory of the Tasmajdan stadium through an event that Tas was recognizable for throughout the former Yugoslavia. We invite all recreational and professional football players, all those who love futsal to join us and take part in this tournament. The playing conditions will be truly superb. The atmosphere will be enjoyable both for the participants and the audience, which we expect in large numbers, and we hope that the tournament will also take on an international character and that we will have participants from abroad," said Vladimir Tesic, director of the futsal tournament "Tasmajdan Trophy".
