Traveling exhibition in the Jevremovac Botanical Garden

The Danube and its inhabitants are always attractive. This time, a special and unfortunately endangered amphibian is the main star of the exhibition. Attendance for all generations is mandatory

Under the auspices of the EU Horizon project "Danube4all", citizens will be able to visit the traveling exhibition "Welcome to the empire of endangered water dragons" in the Jevremovac Botanical Garden in the period from 10th to 14th June. The exhibition is dedicated to the Danube crested newt (Triturus dobrogicus), which is an endangered species endemic to the Danube river basin.

The exhibition was created in the National Park "Danube-Auen" in Austria, as a result of the cooperation of the organization Danubeparks and the EU Inteereg project Transdanube Travel Stories.


Visitors will be able to learn about the way of life, behavior and ways to protect this vulnerable species. The exhibition has so far traveled to Austria, Germany, Croatia, and in Serbia, after the Botanical Garden, it will be exhibited in the Djerdap National Park, from where it will continue its journey to Bulgaria and Romania.

The host of the exhibition in Belgrade is the Danube4all project partner, the Institute for Multidisciplinary Research (IMSI) - University of Belgrade and the Institute of Botany and Botanical Garden Jevremovac.

The official opening is scheduled for Tuesday, 11th June at 10:30, when visitors will be able to attend a lecture by Dr. Milena Cvijanovic, hear additional interesting information about this species and see live some of our most common amphibians.


Stop by and visit this interactive exhibit that provides a wealth of interesting information about the Danube crested newt and excellent visual content.

The exhibition is free for all visitors to the Botanical Garden and can be visited from 10th to 14th June from 12:00 to 16:00 in the summer tent classroom. The setting is suitable for children aged 5 and up.
